WhatsApp CleverTap Connector Setup

This process involves the following steps: 

• Open CleverTap > Settings > Channel > Select “WhatsApp” 

• Choose “WhatsApp Connect” and Select the blue button “+ Provider Configuration”.

Nickname - MSG91_WA_918889500122 (replace this with your number) ● Mobile Number - Add your WhatsApp Integrated number here with country code. (ex - 918889500122) 

HTTP End Point - https://api.msg91.com/api/v5/whatsapp//outbound/clevertap/

• Then copy the inbound message callback URL from the CleverTap dashboard and paste it in inbound section of the Whatsapp’s Webhook in MSG91 panel.

• Copy the delivery report callback URL from the CleverTap dashboard and paste it in the outbound messages section of the Whatsapp’s Webhook in MSG91 panel.

• Add these values under Headers

• Add these values

Authkey - MSG91 Authkey (How to get Authkey)

Content-type : application/json

Accept : application/json

Now test the WhatsApp Connector and you are good to go.

Few Points -

1. Before saving the Connector integration in CleverTap please make sure to enable the CleverTap integration toggle in your MSG91’s account WhatsApp number’s setting then only test the integration.

2. Mobile number has to be added with the country code and without the “+” sign.

Once the configuration is completed, all WhatsApp templates from MSG91 can be seamlessly imported into CleverTap in a single go.

• Checkmark the Template Import Setup button as shown below.

  
  

• Provide the endpoint URL mentioned below:

https://control.msg01.com/api/v5/whatsapp/get-template-plugins/?plugin-clevertap&number={{integrated_number}}

• Pass the integrated mobile number in the above URL.

• Set the pagination limit to define how many templates should be visible on a single page.

• Under Authentication, select Header.

• Add the key as auth_key and provide the value of the auth_key exactly as mentioned above.
  
  

  

• Enable Track Click Button to monitor the number of clicks received on a specific template button.

• Click on Save.

The system may take some time to import all WhatsApp templates created so far on the MSG91 portal.

Once this is completed:

• Go to the same configuration section and click on the Templates tab beside Setup.

• In the Templates section, you will find the Import Template button on the top right side.
  
  

  

  
  

• Click on the Import Template button.

• A dialog box will appear on the screen. Click on Import.
  
  

  

All your templates will now be synced and reflected within the CleverTap panel.

After the import is completed:

• Go to the Templates section.

• Search for the required template.

• Configure the campaign and launch it directly.

This eliminates the tedious process of manually creating the same templates again in CleverTap after they have already been created on MSG91.
