What is Article Redirection?
Redirections refer to the process of guiding users from one web address (URL) to another. In the context of articles, redirection becomes useful when you need to direct visitors from the original URL (also known as the slug) of an article to a new location.
To implement a redirection:
Create a New Redirection:
Begin by selecting the option to create a new redirection.
Fill in Old Slug:
Specify the old slug of the article. The slug is the unique part of the URL that identifies the page.
Provide Redirection URL
Indicate the URL where you want users to be redirected when they try to access the old slug.
Click "Save" to add the redirection
The added Redirection will be visible in the list.
This process is particularly handy when you edit the slug of an article, and you want to ensure that anyone trying to access the old URL is seamlessly directed to the updated location. In simpler terms, it's like setting up a forwarding address for your article on the web.
