MSG91 Pricing Guidelines | Service Deductions

This document outlines how charges are applied across SMS, WhatsApp, Email, Voice, and RCS services on MSG91.

1. SMS & OTP Service

SMS and OTP Service

Message charges are based on:

  • Credits consumed per message, and

  • Per-credit pricing for the destination country.

You can view country-wise pricing on the MSG91 pricing page.

Important Notes

  1. All failed messages are charged.

  2. All delivered messages are charged.

  3. Messages sent to DND numbers are chargeable on both Promotional and Transactional routes.

  4. Blacklisted numbers are not charged.

  5. API failed messages are not charged.

Additional Information

  • If a message is sent without a country code, submission and charges are determined based on the number format (e.g., numbers starting with 91xxxxxxxxxx are treated as Indian numbers).

  • There are no additional charges for using the OTP Widget.

3. WhatsApp Service

WhatsApp charges are applied based on:

  • Templates sent, and

  • The corresponding WhatsApp template pricing, available on the pricing page.

Key Points

  1. No charges are applied on API failed logs. Charges apply only when a message is successfully processed towards the end user.

WhatsApp Subscription Charges

  • ₹500 per month per WhatsApp number (Platform fee).

  • Platform fee is not charged for the first two months:

    • The month of onboarding (regardless of the date), and

    • The following month.

  • Charges start from the third month onward.

3. Email Service

Email services are charged on a subscription basis.
Each email plan includes:

  • A specific email quota, and

  • A set number of email validations.

Note

Emails that appear under API failed logs are not deducted from your subscription quota, as they were not processed successfully.

4. Voice Service

Voice service charges consist of two components:

1. Number Subscription

  • A virtual number must be subscribed to use voice services.

  • Yearly rental: ₹20,000

2. Voice Call Charges

5. RCS Service

RCS charges depend on the template sent.
